Call for Submissions

Are you a group or individual with a passion for local history and ideas for sharing stories about the past with the public? The Nova Scotia Women’s History Society Community History Fund can help you bring your vision to life!

The Nova Scotia Women’s History Society invites applications for funding to support public history projects that will promote awareness about women’s contributions to the province’s history, highlighting the importance and diversity of women’s history anywhere in Nova Scotia/Mi’kma’ki.

Public history initiatives eligible for consideration for one of two annual $5,000 grants include but are not limited to:

  • the design and construction of plaques or other commemorative and interpretive materials
  • the design and execution of virtual or physical exhibitions
  • the organization of workshops, conferences, or presentations
  • research projects with anticipated outputs that will promote awareness about women’s contributions to the province’s history
